This exceptional community lot of Red Bourbon varietal comes to us from the Nyamasheke region in the Southern Province, grown at an impressive altitude of 1,800 to 2,000 meters above sea level. The coffee is produced by a dedicated network of 600 farmers. Moving away from bulk harvesting, these farmers focus on selective hand-picking, ensuring only perfectly ripe cherries are processed, with daily activities managed seamlessly by family-led teams.

These farms serve as models for environmental stewardship, utilizing diverse agroforestry systems to protect the local ecosystem. By integrating coffee with specific shade trees like Grevillea robusta, Albizia, and Banana trees, the farmers reduce heat stress on the crops while providing a vital habitat for local biodiversity. Soil health is strictly maintained through a circular economy where coffee pulp is recycled into organic compost, ensuring a sustainable and high-yielding crop that meets world-class specialty standards.
